New law school in the O.C.

25 09 2008

There’s a new law school opening up for the Fall of 2009. UC Irvine has completed the task of creating a new school of law to the university. And the best part is: there is NO APPLICATION FEE!

I encourage anyone who is applying to law school this year, to apply to UC Irvine School of Law. Their Director of Admissions is Victoria Ortiz, a woman of color who was formerly a Dean at Boalt Hall School of Law. The Dean is Erwin Chemerinsky, who quite frankly, is one of the best legal minds in the country.

The following is a blurb about their admissions program.

“The University of California, Irvine School of Law will open to our first class of students in August 2009. Most of our founding faculty and administrators already are in place for a year of planning that will help ensure an extraordinary experience for our inaugural group of students while building a framework to advance legal education for the 21st century. We have a significant opportunity to transform the approach to teaching and learning in law school—combining the best of established curricular practices with pioneering methods to ensure you are thoroughly prepared for the demands of practice today and in the future.

At the University of California, Irvine School of Law, you will have the unprecedented opportunity to gain a top-20-caliber experience at a school on the cutting edge of legal education. We hope you will join us!”
